With 23 years of experience in data, I feel like an AI boomer! As a business manager and entrepreneur in software, consulting, services, and even BI consulting, I thought I’d seen it all, but now generative AI is turning the game on its head and spicing things up a bit. 

I joined Datategy as head of strategic alliances, focusing on the banking/finance/insurance market. At the same time, I’m still a skydiving instructor, because that’s my hobby and, ultimately, managing security processes with complete confidence is my DNA.

What is Your Role at Datategy?

As Head of Strategic Alliances, my primary responsibility is to build and nurture a robust ecosystem of partners that amplifies our value proposition and drives mutual growth. This involves identifying key players, technology providers, system integrators, consulting firms, and institutional collaborators whose strengths complement our own.

I focus on creating long-term, win-win relationships that go beyond transactional partnerships, aligning on vision, strategy, and execution. By fostering collaboration across departments and ensuring strategic alignment, I help transform partnerships into true business accelerators, enabling us to scale our impact and reach new markets more effectively.

What does Your Typical Workday Look Like?

No two days are ever exactly the same, but that’s what makes it exciting. I usually start my day by catching up on partner updates, emails, joint project statuses, or news from the ecosystem. Mornings are often reserved for strategic calls with existing partners or potential collaborators, where we explore synergies, align roadmaps, and brainstorm co-innovation opportunities. I also work closely with internal teams like product, marketing, and sales to make sure our alliances are fully embedded into the go-to-market strategy.

Follow-ups, proposal preparation, and partnership performance indicators are frequently done in the afternoons. To keep our network current and vibrant, I frequently set aside time to look for new partners or go to industry events, either in person or electronically. 

A significant human component is also involved, requiring a great deal of listening, adapting, and being present in order to preserve trust, align cultures, and navigate complexity. It’s a fast-paced position, but what really motivates me is the chance to work with others to create something greater than what we could accomplish alone.
